Why You Need to Read How to Win the Trust of a Scorpio

Bath writer and astrologer Mary English has reached the end of writing her 12 book Zodiac series starting with How to Survive a Pisces http://amzn.to/NsicYY, which sold out and had to be re-printed.

Her book How to Win the Trust of a Scorpio http://amzn.to/NJ3eBZ  received a glowing endorsement from USA-based astrologer Bil Tierney:

“Mary shines a bright light on some of Scorpio’s inner motives and secret strategies, in ways that can help loved ones to better understand these complex individuals.”

‘This is one of my more helpful books’ says Mary ‘as it helps people truly understand this most misunderstood sign. Scorpios have suffered from years of misrepresentation and ridicule and I wanted to redress the balance.’

With twelve books now published, she was been kept busy writing the series.

Her greatest joy was when a Brazilian publisher bought the rights to the series from her publisher O-Books. http://www.o-books.com/authors/mary-english&i=1

‘I was so thrilled when I received the email to tell me they had bought the rights and they were going to be translated into Portuguese. I was on a high for days’ says Mary.

The publisher  http://www.pensamento-cultrix.com.br/authordetail.aspx?idAuthor=2399 specialises in Spiritual, Self Help and Esoteric writing.

‘I have really enjoyed writing the series’ says Mary ‘I got to interview all sorts of interesting people and find their true motives. Astrology is far more than Sun sign columns, even though I write one myself for Pukka Bath. Each one of my books explains how to make a birth chart easily using free on-line resources and are filled with top tips and helpful hints.’

Mary’s books are regularly in the Amazon astrology best sellers lists and are available on-line and in all good bookshops. How to Win the Trust of a Scorpio is her second most bought title.

‘When I started work on my penultimate book ‘How to Satisfy a Taurus’ I knew the end was in sight. I went backwards through the Zodiac, which proved a bit of a headache but seeing your work, in print is the most wonderful feeling’ she says ‘I am lucky that my publisher was prepared to take a chance with my writing, as astrology is such a niche subject. There are plenty of people that want to understand their own sign however, hence the good sales.’

Here is an excerpt from the book:

As I got into writing the book I had one of those funny/weird Astrological moments. There I was bashing at the keyboard, having promised myself to get to a certain word-count that week and my brother-in-law (who is a Scorpio) phoned up to speak to my husband about my lovely mother-in-law who had recently died. He’d been sleepless that night wondering what to do about clearing their mother’s house and when to ‘sort-out’ her ashes and he rang to say he’d decided what to do and when….so I looked at my Ephemeris and the days they’d decided to meet were when the Sun, the Moon, Mercury AND Venus were all going to be in the sign of Scorpio.

I had a little chuckle to myself.

I must point out my brother-in-law does not follow Astrology at all.

Then I thought: ‘I wonder what the rising sign was when he called?’, so I rang 1471 (which gives you a recorded message of when the call was made) and the rising sign or Ascendant was Scorpio…and the Sun had just gone into Scorpio (about 35 mins not even a degree).

Brother-in-law doesn’t usually ring in the morning, but this was an important phone call, for him, as it was about death (ashes), and as he has Moon in Capricorn practical things (the clearing of the house).

So what were the chances of a Scorpio ringing our house (I picked up the call) just when the Sun had reached Scorpio and the Ascendant was Scorpio and wanting to arrange something to do with death when the Sun, Moon, Mercury AND Venus were going to be in his sign?

I Love Astrology!

The title of this book was suggested to me by a lovely Pisces when I was grappling with the wording and she suggested How to Win the Trust of a Scorpio, when the original working title was How to Trust a Scorpio, which sort of implied that Scorpios aren’t to be trusted….which is so far from the truth it’s almost laughable.

Trust me, you can trust a Scorpio…

The Astrology of Secrets, Espionage & Wikileaks

This post was written in June 2013 but the information is still relevant

There has been a lot in the news about ‘exposing’ secrets.

As an Astrologer I’m always wondering why people are motivated to do the things they do and what might be the result of those actions.

This week saw a chappie called Edward Snowden struggling to extricate himself from the fall-out of ‘revealing’ the ‘top-secret’ information he’d discovered about USA government data.

I won’t go into the ins and outs of the case as you can read about it on just about any news website at the moment….

What I can tell you is how and why the various people linked to secrecy-information-revealing have something very Astrologically simple….in common.

In Astrology we use the signs of various planets to describe certain character traits. Someone with a Cancer Sun sign is more likely to enjoy cuddles, close contact, cuddly animals, feeling nurtured and might live more in tune and in touch with their emotions…..in contrast to someone with an Aquarius Sun sign, who loves new ideas, is motivated by concepts, ideals, the-good-of-the-planet, friendship and enjoys thinking weird and wonderful solutions to problems.

We also use those same signs, from Aries- Pisces to describe someone’s emotional composition. This is the sign the Moon was in on the day of birth. Astrology isn’t just about Sun signs. Knowing someone’s Moon sign gives you a good idea of how they tackle (or not) their feelings.

The Sun sign represents our ‘ego’, our visible self, the bit that people come across everyday, the part of us that ‘shines’ just like the real Sun…..while the Moon, just like it does in real life, reflects the ‘light’ of the Sun and describes how we feel about things.

Now, what has this got to do with Edward Snowden?

Lots.

Edward is Sun sign Gemini (if he was born before 7pm, otherwise he’d be a Cancer) and definitely has his Moon in the sign of Scorpio….

Julian Assange the founder of Wikileaks is definitely a Sun sign Cancer, also with Moon in Scorpio…

Bradley Manning is Sun Sagittarius….with, yes, you’ve guessed it, Moon in Scorpio…

and lastly, the lawyer that is helping Julian Assange is a Sun sign Scorpio.

So what does this mean?

Here’s the https://www.astro.com/ interpretation of Moon in Scorpio written by Robert Hand:

Moon in Scorpio

You have very intense feelings, which can be a strong force in your life. But you may find it hard to understand your feelings, because they are so complicated and deep. You want your whole life to be intense and very deep.

If you don’t get a great deal of reassurance from the people who are close to you, you will feel lonely and misunderstood.

You are very fond of anything secret and mysterious, such as stories about the supernatural. Your need to learn about yourself will help you understand others as well.

Try not to get so wrapped up in your emotions, however. It would be better not to take them so seriously.

I thought it was really interesting how these different Sun sign people, all have the same Moon sign and are all struggling with ‘revealing some sort of secret’…

Now, why would that all happen at the moment?

Why is Edward’s case hitting the news right at this precise moment in time?

This is because of what we call a transit. When a planet passes another planet. A bit like a train passing another train in the station.

I don’t have enough information about their charts (as I don’t have their birth times) to work out what their Ascendant sign would be, or exactly what degree their Sun or Moon would be but we can explain why this is happening ‘now’.

On the 5th October 2012 Saturn, the planet of responsibility, authority and do-the-right-thing went into the sign of Scorpio.

Saturn spends approximately 2+ years in each sign and today (25th June 2013) it is now 4 degrees in the sign of Scorpio…. (each sign of the Zodiac goes through 30 degrees)

It went retrograde on the 19th of February and won’t go direct until the 8th July.

It won’t finally leave the sign of Scorpio until December 24th 2014

It comes back briefly into Scorpio on the 16th June 2015 and goes out again on the 17th September 2015 so anyone with a Scorpio Ascendant, Sun Scorpio or Moon Scorpio will still be feeing the effects of Saturn’s transit right up until Sept 2015.

Some other people that have been affected by Saturn’s transit through Scorpio are:

Jimmy Savile: Sun, Mercury, Venus and Saturn in Scorpio. This scandal hit the news on the 3rd October 2012, 3 days before Saturn entered the sign of Scorpio exposing his alleged sexual assault against 450 victims

Gary Glitter: Sun Taurus, Moon Scorpio, on bail for alleged involvement in the Jimmy Savile scandal

Stuart Hall : Sun Capricorn, Moon Scorpio, sentenced to 15 months in prison for 14 charges of indecent assault involving 13 girls aged between 9 and 17.

Nelson Mandela : Sun Cancer, Moon Scorpio at present hospitalised with lung infection. (There is no suggestion by me that Nelson has acted in anyway similar to the above, I’m just mentioning that he’s struggling with this particular transit…..)

So, if you have Asc, Sun or Moon in Scorpio yourself, best to work on being realistic and sensible until this transit passes….

1.Astrological information.
The above charts have been created from the astro.com website using the birth data recorded on the various wikipedia pages. I have used a birth time of 6am for each chart and used the whole house system.

Why The Sun and Leos Have Something in Common

I thought I’d post a little clip from my book How to Lavish a Leo, the sign which is ‘ruled’ by the Sun.

The Enormous Burning Star

‘If I had to choose a religion, the sun as the universal giver of life would be my god.’

Napoleon Bonaparte https://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Bonaparte,_Napol%C3%A9on_I

In astrology, we call all the celestial beings ‘planets’ which isn’t technically correct. The Sun is actually a star, and while there are thousands of millions of other stars in our own Milky Way, our Sun is special because we depend on it for our survival. It provides us with heat and light, which are rather necessary things for us on Earth. Imagine what life would be like if it was cold all the time and dark. No plants would be able to grow because they depend on light to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen via photosynthesis….and if there was no oxygen, we’d all be dead in less than 10 minutes. Not a fun thought is it?

So for us, the Sun is jolly important.

The Sun is called a ‘great powerhouse’ because it is like a giant nuclear furnace. It is 1,392, 000 km across its diameter, big enough to swallow up our earth a million times, and produces 7,000 million tons of hydrogen every second. This enormous energy release makes our Sun shine and it’s been doing this for more than 4.5 billion years and hopefully will continue to do so for a similar length of time. 2.

The Sun isn’t actually yellow. This is an illusion as it’s really an enormous white ball of gas with no solid edge, with a temperature of 5,500° C. Astronomers think the temperature at its core could be 15,000,000°C. Bit too hot for sun-bathing!

There’s a lot going on, with sunspots and solar activity and things called ‘coronal mass ejections’ hurling out electrically charged particles out into space. These cause the celestial light shows called northern and southern lights when they hit the Earth, but too many of them can pose a threat to satellite electronics and power grids.

Like everything, too much of a good thing can be a problem.

I asked a few Leos about their thoughts on the Sun. Here is Helena, a young 30 years English lady who works for a media company in Portugal:

“I couldn’t live without the sun. It makes EVERYTHING better! I go a nice caramel brown, and feel sooo happy when the sun is out. After living in Portugal, I would struggle living in the UK again, purely because of lack of sun!”

Clarissa is a full-time Mom who lives and works in Canada:

“I love the sun as far as lifting my spirits- I can achieve a nice tan but also have to be careful to not burn.”

Laura is in her late 20’s and lives and works in New Zealand as a graphic designer:

“I love the sun. I like to be warm I dislike being cold or wet prefer warm/dry. I have fair skin and don’t tan easily. Summer is my favorite time of year.

I feel like I have more energy when it is sunny and happier. I like red sunsets especially over water.”

Julie is in her 70’s and lives in middle England and is a house-wife. She loves the sun too:

“I love the sun I am out in it all the time. I have my meals outside. The windows and doors open wide so the fresh air can come in.  I am fair skinned but have a good tan. The sun makes me feel charged up.”

Margaret is a holistic practitioner and lives in the USA

“I am not sun sensitive and I tan nicely. I’ve always loved the sun and thrive on it. To me it feels that I am alive, it makes me happy and I can be outside. The sun is our life giver and I feel it gives me life. If it gets humid I deal with it. I could call myself a sun worshipper in a sense that I just love the sun, not that I lay outside all day to get a tan, which I don’t do. Without the sun we would have no life.”

Only one of the people I asked wasn’t quite as positive about our burning star. Diane is an Astrologer and lives in South Wales:

“I don’t like the hot weather, I burn easily and so avoid sitting out when it is very sunny.”

Notice, how all of them (except Diane) have in their answers ‘I love the Sun’.

I remember my lovely Leo nephew, who used to live in Bristol, bemoaning the lack of Sun here in the West Country. Our weather is very temperate, a bit like Irish weather and we do have lots of rain, which is why it’s so green here. But he was getting depressed that the Sun hadn’t been out much and eventually he moved abroad.

The Sun is such a majestic and magnificent planet (remember it’s actually a Star) it can’t fail to have an influence on our friend the Leo who was born during the Summer months, when the Sun is at its zenith…..

Why You Shouldn’t Move a Virgo’s Cheese

Here is a short extract from my book ‘How to Soothe a Virgo’.

My Virgo doesn’t seem to worry about the important things in life but gets upset if I move the cheese/leave spots of water in the sink/forget the name of…..

This is I’m afraid, extreme Virgo territory. They seem to not be caring about what you’re caring about. And I said ‘seem’. They do infact care a lot but they just can’t think about it for too long because the subject goes round and round in their heads and doesn’t get resolved, so ‘doing’ something about the things they know about makes them feel a little better. It might not make you feel better but that’s where different signs deal with things differently.

These ‘important things’ that you’re worrying about will also worry your Virgo but they know full well that they’ve already done as much as they can to alleviate the problems, and now in a truly Earth sign practical manner, they’re concentrating on the things they can change…which is where the cheese is located. And if you move their cheese, the world will end (figuratively not literally) because it doesn’t need to be moved and if you move it, you’re doing something against their mind-flow, which to a Virgo is a complete no-no.

Now don’t get me wrong. Virgos don’t like to think where the cheese is located. They’ve already decided that on the second shelf in the fridge is best, because it’s the mean temperature there and if its on another shelf in the fridge it will more likely go off quicker, or get mouldy. They’ve already worked that one out.

…and if they’re going to make a cheese sandwich, they don’t want to have to hunt for the cheese before they make it. They just want to make the sandwich, easily without having to think about the cheese or the bread or the filling…that’s too much thinking.

While they’re making their sandwich they’re thinking maybe about getting the car serviced, or how long it will take them to get to the end of whatever they’re involved in, or they must remember to get some more ink/stationary/petrol/stamps/paint/coal/wood/crackers/moisturiser  as supplies are running low but I can guarantee that your average Virgo does not think about what they’re doing, while they’re doing it…only if something is different…

or if it’s moved…

…..and you’ve now moved the cheese and all they can think about is ‘Why did she/he move the cheese’? What did I say/do/hint to make him/her put it on the bottom shelf, when they know that leaving it there makes it more susceptible to mould/deterioration?’…on and on…Small hint. Don’t move things that they like or care about, it’s not worth the angst.

How to Soothe a Virgo,  like the others in the series, is available anyway you’d like it, from a physical book, to an ebook….

Confused? Been Deceived? Maybe Neptune is Knocking…

Neptune can be a difficult planet to explain. Astrologers use words like: Illusion, Delusion, Psychic, Deception, Otherworldly-Connection and Spirituality…or just plain ‘Fuzzy’.

The whole history of its discovery is peppered with all the above words and more.

Neptune was nearly discovered by Galileo who first saw it while he was observing the Jupiter system on 28 December 1612.

After the discovery of Uranus in 1781 by William Hershel in Bath, UK (where I live) astronomers continued to observe the night sky and track the movements of other celestial bodies. However, Neptune’s discovery wasn’t made by observation.

The astronomers who were working on the case used ‘mathematical astronomy’.

Another Planet Affecting Uranus’ Orbit?

Uranus wasn’t moving as predictions said it would, so the astronomers concluded that another planet must have been affecting its orbit.

Neptune was recorded several more times, without being recognized as a planet, over the following years.

Lalande a French astronomer, recorded Neptune on the 8th and 10th of May 1795 thinking that it was a star.

William Herschel’s son John Herschel, who was involved with the discovery, recorded Neptune on 14 July 1830 also believing it to be a star.

However, a French chap named Urbain Le Verrier, who worked at the Paris Observatory, used mathematical calculation to prove its existence and:

“discovered a star with the tip of his pen, without any instruments other than the strength of his calculations alone.

He received many honors and widespread recognition for his achievement. The Times carried the headline on the 1 October 1846: “Le Verrier’s planet found”.

George Airy and John Couch Adams were the two other astronomers, who independently worked on ‘finding’ the planet.

In the aftermath of the discovery, there was much nationalistic rivalry between the French and the British over who had priority for the discovery and eventually, after considerable argument, it was decided to give the credit to both Urbain Le Verrier and Adams together.

Their discovery was called Neptune.

So Neptune the planet was ‘found’ not by observation, as most of the other planets were discovered, but by mathematical means i.e. Urbain Le Verrier sat there, working out the movements of Uranus, which he (and John Couch Adams) deduced must be influenced by the orbit of another planet, because it was not moving as they thought it would. Neptune was ‘in the background’, minding its own business but affecting others (in this case the orbit of Uranus).

How quaint! ….then BAM!! It gets discovered and all hell breaks loose.

Most Difficult For One Word Description

Margaret E Hone wrote in 1951 in her Modern Text Book of Astrology’ more than 100 years after Neptune was discovered :

This planet has to do with what hides itself from view, hence it is the most difficult for which to find a suitable one-word descripion”.

She then goes on to use the words ‘nebulousness, impressionability, artistic, dreamy, emotional, idealistic, imaginative, sensitive, subtle, sentimental, woolly, wandering and unstable’ amongst others to convey the sort of themes that Neptune governs.

Plenty has been written about Neptune in myth.

The Romans called him the God of the sea, (the Greeks called him Poseidon) and he was Zeus’ younger brother. He carried a trident which had three prongs, as is seen it its glyph that Astrologers now use.

Controlling the Seas

neptune-sea

In Roman legend, he was given the sea as his realm and he took over the Greek God Poseidon’s job of getting into tempestuous rages. His wife, Amphitrite, gave birth to a son called Triton. He was also famed for having love affairs and was the father to several other children who were wild and cruel. He was worshipped as the god of navigation and temples were erected in his honor. Both the Greeks and later the Romans felt this God controlled the seas and when angry would cause storms and shipwrecks. Not a particularly friendly chap and prone to rubbing-up the other Gods in the wrong way.

So here we have an energy: Neptune, that can so easily take you to the heights of spirituality and just as swifly take you to the depths of oblivion.

Astrology of Neptune

When Neptune was discovered by Urbain Le Verrier in 1846 it was just in the last few degrees of the sign of Aquarius.

By February 1848 it has gone into Pisces.

So this is the second time since Neptune was discovered that it has been in the sign of Pisces.

It’s very happy in that sign. I’ve explained this before, but I’ll repeat myself. Each sign of the Zodiac has a planet that looks after it. We call it their ‘ruler’ and the ruler to the sign of Pisces is…..Neptune.

When it returned to the sign of Pisces, which it did in 2012, strange things happen.

It’s orbit takes 165 years to go all the way round the Sun and it spends approx 13 years in each sign. Sometimes it spends more time in some signs that others and also retrogrades for long periods of time due to its orbit.

Now, please keep in mind that no one planet ‘affects’ our human race. There are 10 celestial bodies that orbit our Sun, and each one of them has a different story of its own.

Some make (literally) bigger noises than others and it’s perfectly possible to not be at all affected by any one of them…

However some things are and some people are…

Tim Heyer, Astrologer, has noted how the amount of men that have grown beards since Neptune arrived back in Pisces has increased (!)

More info here: https://5280astro.wordpress.com/2015/05/27/neptune-in-pisces-bringing-back-the-beard/

Pisces Richard Tarnas has also written in great depth about the planetary cycles. Do get a copy of his wonderful Cosmos and Psyche but be prepared for a long, long, in depth read (!) http://amzn.to/2ezOEE8

Liz Green wrote an equally wonderful book just about this particular planet: The Astrological Neptune and the Quest for Redemption. http://amzn.to/2eRKZPf

Now, what have I noticed since Neptune returned to Pisces in February 2012?

One thing is the Vegan movement.

Veganism

The number of vegans in Britain has risen by more than 360 per cent over the past decade, according to a survey in 2016 that showed record numbers of people are avoiding food derived from animals.

Some 542,000 people aged 15 or over – more than one per cent of the UK population – have adopted a plant-based diet, up from 150,000 in 2006. 1

I’ve been (mostly) Vegan since I received my Reiki First Degree in 2003. Since then I’ve noticed far more outlets serving dairy and meat-free options. In fact only last week I went with my son to a Vegan Junk Food outlet (!) http://www.vxbristol.com/ that has recently opened in Bristol.

I also run a non-fiction writer’s group http://www.bath-writers.co.uk/ in a vegan cafe that opened in Feb 2013 in Bath http://www.thegreenrocket.co.uk/

Migrants Travelling By Sea

In October 2013 the largest amount of deaths from drowning was recorded when nearly 400 migrants lost their lives due to being shipwrecked off the coast of Italy. 2

The problem hasn’t got any better and is, in my opinion, a reflection of all that Neptune can bring.

Now compare this to the year that Neptune last went into Pisces in 1848.

The main news item for that year was (and I quote directly from Wikipedia):

A Wave of Revolutions

The revolutionary wave began in France in February, and immediately spread to most of Europe. Over 50 countries were affected, but with no coordination or cooperation among their respective revolutionaries. 3

UK Wettest Weather

In the UK, the wettest February on record was noted in February 1848 4

Can you see words associated with ‘water’?

Neptune is after all, a God of the sea…

Back to this century…

2012 was the wettest year across England 5

United Nations Declaration

In 2013 the UN declared an ‘International Year of Water Cooperation.’ 6

Floods

Monsoon rain is causing devastation in parts of India, Bangladesh and Nepal, affecting 16 million people. Aid agencies are calling the floods one of the worst regional humanitarian crises in years. Not only Houston in the USA but Africa and Asia are countries also being affected by flooding. 7

The Pisces Movement

Rudolf Steiner, https://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Steiner,_Rudolf the man that founded Anthroposophy (a name that really didn’t catch on in the UK) was born in 1861 and was Sun Pisces.

Nothing very remarkable about that, but he had his Mercury (the planet of communication) exactly conjunct (next to) his own natal Neptune in Pisces.

I’d say without any hesitation that he was a spokes-person for all things Neptune-related.

You can think of him either as a prophet or a looney, depending on what your own views are.

But the movement he advocated gave birth to Steiner and Waldorf Schools which still exist today and just as importantly bio-dynamic agriculture and farming.

Anthroposophy can be seen more as an underground movement and as far away from mainstream thinking as you can get but none the less, important.

Steiner Waldorf education emphasizes the role of imagination in learning and integrates the intellectual, practical, and artistic development of pupils holistically. 8

Paganism Upsurge

Various countries including the UK have seen a surge in the rise of Paganism.

In the UK it is estimated 57,000 people are Pagan and identify themselves as one (including me!) and the numbers are still increasing 9

In Iceland numbers have leapt 50% since 2014 to 3,583 10

In the USA this Pagan Priestess is worried about meeting the demands of a ‘swelling congregation’ http://www.huffingtonpost.com/courtney-weber/the-future-of-paganism_b_7235648.html

Like Neptune, Paganism is very hard to describe in a few words. Many have tried!

Numie Brown a Druid explains it very well and has written extensively on the subject and is a fellow author with my publisher https://druidlife.wordpress.com/about/

Our Lives

So, how does this relate to a human life?

Who has more of an affinity with this strange planet than other people?

Famous people who have Neptune right on their Ascendant are:

Prince William:

Neptune in Sagittarius https://www.astro.com/astro-databank/William,_Duke_of_Cambridge

Marilyn Monroe: Neptune in Leo

https://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Monroe,_Marilyn

Stevie Wonder: Neptune in Libra

https://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Wonder,_Stevie

Maya Angelou: Neptune in Leo

https://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Angelou,_Maya

Jane Austen: Neptune in Virgo

https://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Austen,_Jane

And

Cat Stevens (now called Yusuf Islam): Neptune in Libra https://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Stevens,_Cat

Neptune and Health

At the moment Neptune 13 degrees Pisces and is retrograde and won’t go direct until 23rd November, so all the positive good it could bring is unravelling.

So, if you feel as if something you’re doing isn’t moving, or you’re confused, or it feels as if things are slipping by, that’s a Neptune retrograde feeling.

I’ve noticed with clients if they get a health condition that is inexplicable, then that’s generally due to something to do with a Neptune transit or natal placement.

If it’s something you can’t describe or put your finger on, or get a true diagnosis for, find out where Neptune is in your chart and how it’s affecting you and maybe you’ll get an explanation.

You might even find a way to heal that works better for you…

Ways to heal a Neptune-related issue are gentle, non-invasive, using the imagination, the senses, dream-related and most of all spiritual.

angel

At the moment I am working with clients using a specific healing session to release fears, anxieties and buried emotions that may be preventing full health.

Do get in touch if you’d like to know more.

Neptune will be visible on the 5th/6th September 2017 at around midnight-4am near to the approaching full moon.

I’ll be out there with my binoculars!

Why She Made a Stuffed Doll in His Image~The Hungry Ghost of Love…

One thing that I get asked a lot, mostly by ladies is: ‘Am I compatible with Mr/Ms X?’

Now, even people that know nothing about Astrology somehow know, maybe it’s because of magazine articles, that Astrology will give them some insight into the sort of people who will make them a good partner.

This is perfectly true.

Astrology will highlight aspects of your chart and your beloved’s that are good.

However, what Astrology won’t do, is ‘tell you’ or indicate, or suggest if that person you’re thinking of falling in love with….has also fallen in love with you!

Compatibility

I have written about this before

About a lady who was absolutely, 100% convinced that the man who would be her soul-mate was….Michael Jackson.

And considering this particular lady lived in Iceland, thousands of miles away from Mr Jackson in the USA, and she had no intention of packing up and leaving Iceland, I was at a loss to understand how she thought she’d be able to make a relationship from this 100% compatibility.

Don’t let this happen to you!!

In fact, if you’re dating someone right now DO NOT ask me if you’re compatible until at least 3 months into your relationship.

You might be 110% compatible with Mr’/Miss/Ms Right but she might leave the lid off the toothpaste, or kiss her dog lots, or have terrible relatives, or he might snore, or lie in when you’re raring to go, or they might like lots of spices in their food and you don’t. There are plenty of reasons to NOT get along with someone, so please curb your urge to find out your compatibility.

When they don’t love you back

Now, in affairs of love, the worst case scenario is when you love someone, madly, deeply and completely….and they don’t love you back.

At first, they might be polite and answer your texts, or calls or say ‘Hello’ to you at work or on the bus or in the pub but that doesn’t makes them fancy you.

They might even talk with you, or laugh at your jokes, or even kiss you, but that still doesn’t mean they’re in love with you.

They might even sleep with you, borrow money from you, take your child/ren to school, make their breakfasts, but still, they might not love you.

A long time ago I did a phone reading for lady who loved someone she worked with. She’d made a stuffed doll of this man (!) and wanted to know if it was a good idea for her to send it to this man of her dreams.

stuffed doll

I very firmly told her it was not.

When someone is in a bad way, and ‘madly’ in love that isn’t reciprocated, being gentle or subtle does NOT work. It takes a lot of effort and energy to convince someone that the person they’re ‘madly’ in love with, doesn’t love them back.

The love object might have already dropped lots of subtle hints and the loved-up person is SOOOOOOO busy ‘being madly in love’ that they haven’t picked up all these subtle cues.

I’ve had clients write their love object letters, emails, send them presents (this happens a lot), buy them/or cook them meals, buy them clothes, put them up, take them ‘under their wing’, text them incessantly, Facebook post them, tweet them (doesn’t happen too much) Instant-gram them, bombard them with social media messages until the love object goes into hiding.

Imagine for a minute, someone you REALLY don’t like bombarding you with affectionate and obsessional messages and communications.

Imagine how you would feel.

You certainly wouldn’t want to date them, love them or sleep with them. In fact some men Do sleep with them in the faint and desperate hope that the Love-Up-Person will then leave them alone.

Then starts the bargaining.

“If only I can invite him/her over for lunch, if only I can see him/her for just a drink, or a film, or even a talk, or a chat”…and the obsession grows like a sort of Hungry Ghost, eating everything in it’s way.

Astrologically the sort of people who are more likely to do this are people with Pluto near the Ascendant, or in the 1st or 12th houses and I really recommend if this is you, to read Donna Cunningham’s Healing Pluto Problems .

No other book comes near her very practical advice.

Now, don’t think for one minute I’m only telling you this because I’m a therapist. I’m explaining what happens from a place of personal experience and I know exactly what happens, so really this post is to help you, because I had it happen and I know what it’s like.

The Hungry Ghost Of Love

ghost

I have noticed it’s worse in those clients who have lost their fathers, or in men who have lost their mothers when young. That death brings a deep sense of loss that only a close personal relationship can bring. But the grief of losing that parent has never truly been healed, and the Hungry Ghost of Love eats their energy and makes matters much, much worse.

Have a think about your life, have you lost someone? Has someone died that you loved and you thought you’d never replace that love?

So, how do you know is someone does love you?

When they do love you back

You’ll know because they’ll tell you.

They’ll text and say it.

Email and say it.

Say it to your face.

They’ll write you letters, doodle your name, make post-it notes about you, put random pictures on your notice board and write how much they love that person in the photo… and more….

The Astrology of Lovers~How Astrology Can Help You Love Better…

In my private practice I work a lot with clients who are having relationship difficulties: Affairs, separation, divorce and all of these can be influenced by becoming new parents, work changes, relocation, and that biggie: Money Issues.

An indepth study of their chart soon reveals exactly why that might be. Maybe a Saturn transit, or a complex aspect within their own chart. Usually a transit triggers some innate, hidden or subconscious aspect within their chart and my job as the translator of their chart, is to illuminate that issue and bring it to the light.

Once an issue is discussed and allowed space to ‘be’ it tends to fade into the background and become healed.

After over 20 years of offering solutions to my clients, I thought it was about time that I actually made it easier for them to find those solutions themselves and work on them.

Of course, there are plenty of people that want guidance and a chance to chat but writing a book to help them when I can’t actually ‘be’ there with them was the next best thing.

Astrology can come across as so complex and unwieldy, I decided to make my book appeal to not only people that already use Astrology but also those that have a mild interest but have never actually made a chart.

I direct them to the wonderful FREE Astrological resource astro.com with instructions on how to easily make a chart and what to do when problems arise.

The other type of clients I work with are those that are single and don’t want to be.

They’re on a Quest to find The One.

Having been these myself and knowing all the pitfalls and stumbling blocks along the way, I offer sound advice, tips and techniques to make finding The One that much easier.

Today and for the next 48 hours my book has been reduced in the UK ONLY from the RRP of £7.99 to £3.60 The Astrology of Lovers Special Price! on the Amazon UK website, so dash over there and grab your copy Price Reduction!

You don’t need to know anything about Astrology to benefit from reading this book.

You don’t need to buy any software or complicated reference texts.
